The future of DeFi is unfolding right now and it’s moving faster on Solana than anyone expected.
According to fresh data from RWAxyz, tokenized real‑world assets (RWAs) on Solana have exploded by over 200% year‑to‑date, outpacing Ethereum’s RWA growth and hinting at a powerful shift in this cycle’s hottest sector.
This isn’t just a niche trend. Since January 2024, the total on‑chain RWA market surged from $8.6 billion to an eye‑popping $25.5 billion a 196% jump. That means billions of dollars of traditional financial products, like treasuries and stablecoins, are now living on public blockchains, unlocking new opportunities for yield and liquidity.
Why Solana Is Catching Up to Ethereum Fast
While Ethereum still holds the biggest slice of the public RWA market with over $7.7 billion out of $13.5 billion in tokenized RWAs Solana’s growth speed is undeniable.

Just last month alone, Solana’s RWAs grew by another 22%, shrinking the gap between Ethereum and Solana.
In comparison, Ethereum’s RWAs have climbed by 81% year‑to‑date, starting at $4.3 billion.
The Engine Behind Solana’s RWA Surge
A recent Messari report backs this trend, citing a 140.6% growth in 2025 to $418.1 million in Solana RWA value. Part of the data difference with RWAxyz comes from whether certain pools like ONyc are included but the growth story stays the same.
So what’s fueling this momentum? Yield‑bearing RWAs.
Projects like Ondo Finance lead the charge, with:

OUSG — a token backed by Blackrock’s BUIDL, giving users exposure to tokenized U.S. Treasuries.

USDY — a Treasury‑backed stablecoin that pays yield.
Together, these two assets make up about $248 million, roughly 60% of Solana’s RWA market (excluding ONyc).
Meanwhile, Blackrock’s BUIDL fund itself tops the entire RWA market with a massive $2.8 billion market cap, most of it on Ethereum.
Yet, it’s worth noting: over 90% of RWA value on both Ethereum and Solana still comes from stablecoins, according to RWAxyz.
